For more than 30 years I have pursued a deep interest in leadership and teamwork. I’ve spent countless hours learning from experts, researchers, and authors, and observing how people work in teams and organizations. I take that wisdom and make it practical by writing, by teaching and coaching other leaders, by improving processes, by influencing culture, and by building resilient high-performing teams and organizations.

I’ve spent most of my professional life leading software development engineering teams. I’ve managed front line teams and larger organizations in engineering, product management, and consulting.

With experience in a broad range of companies, from scrappy startups to big old and traditional, I’ve observed, learned from, and influenced a great variety of leaders and organizations.
